    Rent on properties

I would go with option two, sameness bores me. Limiting to one plot I would think should policy. Some folks live and die by housing, some folks never go into town if they can avoid it. I don't envy folks for having more than me, I merely strive for what makes me happy. I would hope the...

Reputation and/or Resources loss & Desertion

I like the sounds of what you propose Nephele. Certain areas should be more cosmopolitan, everyone is welcome as long as they follow the rules. I would have a few areas distrustful of others (think dark elves), requiring massive faction work to gain access. Artisans of Thronefast - welcoming...

Unless something changes I believe the intent is go have regional economies, not global. You might be able to see other wares within a single continent and purchase without traveling to the stall of the vendor (maybe not) but another continent would require you to travel there. Also I was...

    Rent on properties

Does real estate become a trade-able commodity in game? Can a player of modest means pay in game currency to buy a nicer property?

    Portable shops

I'm not against it at all. I think it would add flavor to the game. You could either institute a merchant license, as another money sink, or take a commission from all sales, balancing it so that some would take on becoming a traveling merchant and others would stick with whatever base system...

    Portable shops

I hadn't even thought about crafters actually building the carts. There would be a lot of possibilities for crafters. Wood workers obviously, but blacksmiths too for axles, pins etc.; leather workers for harnesses and such for beasts of burden; outfitters for canopies. I think if this type of...

    Crafting and the World

I don't have the concerns that you do regarding new players where crafting is concerned. My greater concern is that they put an enjoyable system into place. If crafting is entertaining then being seasoned or new will make little difference. It the journey for me, not the destination. I'll start...

    Unlocking hidden potential in gear

Expertise could end up almost being an AA system for crafting. My reason for mentioning altar is that Brad has mentioned it several times as a method for obtaining temporary buffs. I doubt volume wise it would ever be enough to remove common items, but perhaps more uncommon items would be a...

    Delivery services

I think of it more as you travel to a store, find an item you want and have it delivered, as opposed to shopping on Amazon and having it delivered. You must still make the trek to find what you want. No setting up recurring deliveries.

    My current goal

Is to flood the forums with penguins (apparently) and make it look like Antarctica around here. 😋 I'm going away for a bit now.

    Chef / Brewer

I like foods and drinks with stats that have a bearing on life. I think you have to be careful how you determine other peoples fun. I'm not a big raider. It's probably a blast in the beginning, but I level too slowly to get there at that stage. By the time I do a few raids it feels like work...

    Specializations

I think perception would be ideal as a jeweler. Looking for just the right spot to split that rough diamond for making the perfect facet. Same for sculptors. The piece is already in the marble, it's just waiting to be perceived, so the remaining bits can be removed to reveal your masterpiece...

    Rent on properties

I'm all for taking money out of the system. Inflation tends to kill mmo's for me, and eventually drive me away. When everybody become Jeff Bezos, money becomes unimportant and the game degrades rapidly, in my opinion.

Reputation and/or Resources loss & Desertion

Interesting. I can see the downfall of prideful tradespeople. They start making beautiful swords and maces, so much so they start engraving their names in their products. The local militia, however, starts noticing the certain weapon smiths aren't too fussy about who they sell to. Comrades are...

    Portable shops

I always worry when crafting is allowed away from crafting areas. I've seen many a crafting area become a dead zone because crafters obtain the ability to craft elsewhere, and go for convenience. Formerly thriving crafting areas become deserted. I', for that reason against crafting from future...

    Delivery services

Actually this could be an interesting idea. It could factor into encumbrance avoidance. Find a deal on ore on another continent but it would take you 3 years to carry yourself, or require you to accelerate your quest to obtain a pack animal. Better to pay a fee and have it delivered. This might...

    Expansion idea for crafting

Could be interesting to combine with housing. Some folks would prefer an apartment in a bustling city. Some a nice cottage in the woods. Combined with housing though could some choose to obtain a farm, or a ranch? I'd imagine it would require additional land, and expense. Do the dark myr prefer...

    Unlocking hidden potential in gear

Ok, typing before I've fleshed everything out (typical for me) but how about the concept of "expertise". Say you are only allowed to maintain expertise in 3 sub-areas of your specialization. A sub-area would be defined by the base material, for example copper, silver, gold , platinum ,mithril...

    Unlocking hidden potential in gear

I have to agree that it would make more sense if they followed the progression of working with iron, and the history of increasingly better steel, rather than thousands of year of mankind's history in discovering and utilizing metals, but that would be quite the deviation from mmo's. I don't...
